Small World Montessori School Racine was started in 1973 and is housed on a beautifully renovated church building on High Street in Racine, Wisconsin. The parent-run school's philosophy is based upon the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. Small World Montessori School is incorporated under the laws of the State of Wisconsin and is governed by a Parent Board of Directors.

The Montessori approach recognizes that the child's early years, from birth to six, are the most formative. The Montessori environment contains hands-on materials, which are a source for learning and discovery. The child acquires knowledge of the natural world and the skills needed to becoming a responsible member of society.
